The Devil’s River News is a subsidiary of Masked Rider Publishing, Inc. and is published weekly (except the first week of July and the week of Christmas) in Sonora, Texas. The newspaper proudly serves the area in and around Sutton County, Texas.

The first edition of The Devil’s River News came off the press on October 18, 1890. Mike Murphy founded the newspaper and served as its publisher until his death in 1922. Since its inception, the weekly newspaper has been published without interruption. The newspaper is the oldest continually operated business in Sutton County
The Devil’s River News was acquired on January 28, 2016 by Masked Rider Publishing, Inc. from Ben and Sam Taylor. At that time, the newspaper joined a stable of West Texas weekly newspapers including The Eldorado Success and The Big Lake Wildcat. Randy Mankin serves as the group’s publisher.
Kimberley Meyer joined The Devil’s River News during the 2016 acquisition and currently serves as its editor.
